Fresh, balanced food for growing minds

At Rydal Day Nursery, we ensure that all children are provided healthy, balanced meals. We provide fresh, home-cooked meals every day, cooked by our onsite chef.

Our chef follows the EYFS Nutrition Guide, ensuring that all meals served are balanced, healthy and nutritious. We provide a rotating 4-week menu, so children are offered variety and are able to try a range of different meals. Fruit is offered for snack twice a day, alongside milk and water.

Working together

Parent
Partnership

Strong family relationships help children feel safe, understood and ready for their next steps.

At Rydal Day Nursery, we understand the key role that family relationships play in a child’s development, and we work hard to ensure that we are supportive of both the child and the wider family.

Parent partnership is key to ensuring a smooth transition into the setting for a child, communication being effective is passed between home and the setting, and providing the setting with key information.

We communicate with parents via Nursery in a Box. This allows parents to send messages to the setting, look at their child’s daily diary, including photos and what they’ve eaten. The app provides access to invoices, registration details, your child’s all-about-me information and much more.

Your nursery account

Parent
Admin

A simple place to keep in touch, follow progress and manage important account information.

Each child will have a ‘Celebration of Me’ progress check completed termly. Parents are invited in three times a year for parents’ evenings to speak with their child’s key person and discuss next steps.

Every child is assigned a key person upon starting at the setting. The key person system allows a child to develop a secure attachment with a familiar adult. This adult is responsible for completing progress checks, parent meetings and recording observations and milestones for the child.

Although a child has one key person, all staff in the setting spend time in each of the rooms, allowing the children to form strong bonds with everyone and helping transitions between rooms feel smoother.
